Great review of “United Service” which is book #2 of the Colony series by author Regina Morris. Ebook only 99 cents. Available on Amazon ( http://amzn.to/1ekerWQ ) & BN ( http://bit.ly/17C3itj ) “I love that even though the book is about vampires, Regina Morris, manages to bring a realistic twist to the story and makes it seem almost believable that vampires could actually live amongst us. I enjoyed the originality of the story.” (read the entire review by clicking the link). Regina Morris

When people think what the life of an author must be like, they mentally see us in front of our computers typing all day. Perhaps I had this same vision when I started writing as well. That is as fictitious as the novels I write. 😉 I’m right now juggling between 4 of my novels! My first novel, “Eternal Service”, is out in print. I now have fans on my facebook page, reviews coming in, and I’m trying to get as much publicity out on it as I can. Novel #2, “United Service”, has come back from my line editor. I’m trying to put in all of her suggested changes. It’s tedious, but very important. She hand edits a printout, so I have to manually put in the changes to my Word doc. I’m a control freak. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Book #3, “Enduring Service”, is ready for my content editor, but I’m holding off on it. The number of words is light and I really want to beef-up a minor character’s role. Book #4, “Reliant Service”, is about 40% written. Toss on the amount of time I am on my LinkedIn groups talking with other writers, posting on my blog, working on book covers, and researching other story lines, and I’m being spread too thin. So, do I sit and type all day? Sure, if you want to count typing in URLs and such. Overall, I wish I could just write my books all day long. Since I am my own publisher and public relations expert, writing is just a small part of what I do. But, it is the most fun! 🙂

Last night I finished the last scene my book , “Enduring Service.” It is the third book in my Colony series of humorous paranormal romances. Book #2, “United Service”, just came back from my line editor this past weekend. So I’ll work on that while I put “Enduring Service” aside and give my mind some time to distance itself from my writing. It was good timing that I found this article of the 7 deadly sins of self-editing. http://www.writersdigest.com/online-editor/the-7-deadly-sins-of-self-editing?et_mid=607208&rid=234842913 I do agree with the 7 sins and thought I’d share it with my writing buddies. 🙂 Regina Morris

Another great review for my book “Eternal Service” 🙂 “I was grabbed by the scruff of the neck and immersed in a vampire story that I have not run across before. I am awed and captivated by the story that has been created. I am amazed to see a new take on vampires and a version that has not been written to death.” – Brandy Dorsch at RomanceBookWorm http://romancebookworm.com/?s=Eternal+Service

I got another great review (Two in one day!). “I enjoyed the idea of vampires working for the government. I loved how they were able to change their appearances based on how much blood they consume. There was action, suspense, romance and a little bit of angst. The characters were very likeable. Raymond is definitely a swoon worthy male lead and Alex is just the right amount of being beautiful, smart and strong but also vulnerable.” By Jennifer Skewes at threechicksandtheirbooks http://www.threechicksandtheirbooks.com/2013/02/our-review-for-eternal-service-colony-1.html?spref=fb

I try so hard to accomplish three mini-goals each day that will progress my writing career. I do this every day. Sometimes what I do is small, and at times it can take me hours to just do one of the three items on my list. For example, today I completed the LSI documents so they can be faxed tomorrow. An LSI account will get me listed on the Ingram’s list so people can buy my paperback at BN. Secondly, I edited the first 3500 words of my novel, “Enduring Service”, so that I could enter it into a writing contest. Lastly, I write a synopsis for that book. Tomorrow will be an easier day. I’m going to fax and mail the paperwork (entry for for “Enduring Service” for WLT contest). That will be 2 of my 3 for the day. I will also call send emails to my friends in my neighborhood who are not on Facebook that my book is available. Some days are harder than others, but it’s all worthwhile! 🙂 Regina Morris

Whew! The print version of my book, Eternal Service, has been ordered. I did this through my CreateSpace account. CreateSpace is Amazon’s company for print books. You can’t tell, but I’m grinning from ear-to-ear! The book was printed and shipped already. Should be here (maybe) by Friday. I saw a digital copy of it online and it looked good, but the real test will be when I have it in hand and can really check it over. If all goes well, this means I can approve the proof on CreateSpace and put my book on the Amazon store. I do have to create my author account on Amazon, but I already have the Kindle version of the book and I’m ready to pull the switch and make it available. This is all happening so fast! I also plan on creating an account on LSI (think CreateSpace but on a bigger scale). LSI will have my book listed on Ingrams and will allow stores like BN and Book People to order print copies.
