Summary:Heartwarming, sweet romantic short story about a soldier wounded in battle who finds love where he least expects it. Amputee Corporal Tommy Johnson is rehabbing in a VA hospital near his small hometown in Texas and hiding from everyone, but a nice surprise of events helps him to have his happily ever after.

“This is a story of hope. When Tommy is wounded in the war and needs a prosthesis, he is ashamed, angry and wants to be left alone. A nurse, named Abby, who works at the hospital tries to get him to accept his injury and gets him to share his concerns with other veterans who are in the same situation. He is broken physically and emotionally, especially after his fiancé dumped him because of his injury. When he finds out from Abby that they have a long history and he realizes who she is, he tries to make amends and explain his actions. Is there hope for redemption from Abby and a future together? Although this is not Regina Morris’s usual genre that I read, it is very well written and I really enjoyed it. I received this free book from the author so that I may read it and submit an honest opinion. It in no way affected my review.”
